Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara - Review

I'm always looking for the best mascara, my quest is for a mascara that doesn't flake, run easily or cake my lashes too much.
I adore Tarte Cosmetics and I've heard a ton about their Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara.
I thought I would purchase this kit that I featured in my recent blog post 'Here' it provided me with an opportunity to try more from the Tarte range and of course this mascara.
I had high hopes, I know that Fleur De Force raves about this mascara, and it's featured in tons of other bloggers monthly favourites.
The brush isn't too big; meaning that it will fit close to your lash line, to coat every lash.
The packaging is unique, wrapped in animal print.  I adore the deep purple colour, and it stands out packaging wise over anything else in the mascara market.
On the Tarte website it says that -
"Product Performance: Our lights, camera, lashes™ 4-in-1 mascara could be considered a push-up bra for your lashes—a 4-in-1 (lengthening, curling, volumizing, and conditioning) plus it’s dermatologist- and clinically-proven to increase the appearance of lash volume."

I don't agree with this claim, the mascara is full of fibres, which you can actually see in the photo below!
It takes you around 4 -5 coats to get the sort of coverage that you can actually see the black pigment of this mascara.  Yes, I found that it doesn't flake much, but I did 'feel' the fibres on my lashes - sort of an itchy, funny sensation - unlike when I wear my Benefit Roller Lash mascara.
In comparison to the rest of the Tarte range, this mascara just doesn't work for me.
The rest of the range I have tried from eyeshadows to blushers - they are all highly pigmented and a joy to use.
If you'd like to try this mascara for yourself, you can purchase a full size version from QVC UK for £21.50 with £2.95 postage and packing 'Here' (pictured is a sample size 0.3fl oz)

It's shame that I didn't get on with Lights, Camera, Lashes - I felt let down that it didn't stand up to the hype!

I'm going to stick to my Benefit mascaras from now on.

Have you tried anything from Tarte before?  If so what else do you recommend?
