Alfred Dunhill - Inspiration for the special man in your life

Alfred Dunhill, Ltd. is a British-based company, specialising in men's luxury leather goods, writing implements, lighters, timepieces, fragrances and clothing.

The business was developed by Alfred Dunhill after he inherited his father's saddlery business on London's Euston Road. Alfred Dunhill, responding to the growing demand for auto-mobiles, developed a line of accessories called "Dunhill's Motorities".

This first collection included car horns and lamps, leather overcoats, goggles, picnic sets and timepieces. Alfred Dunhill pitched the company under the slogan “Everything But The Motor”.

English actor Jude Law is the apparel ambassador for Alfred Dunhill international adverts. He has represented the company in Asia since 2005.
Dunhill has also occasionally provided various accessories for the cinematic James Bond throughout the series. The association first in 1962 began when the production team requested a gunmetal cigarette lighter for Sean Connery's introduction in Dr. No.
Dunhill have built a series of retail emporiums for men.
The Homes of Alfred Dunhill aim to represent the experience of luxury, allowing the customer to live the brand. The retail environment is distinguished by a range of services – which include a bespoke tailoring service, barber’s shop, fine wine cellars, bar or restaurant, screening room and spa. The stores are in London, Shanghai and Tokyo and a fourth store has opened in Hong Kong in 2010.

The Mayfair Store

Located in a magnificent Georgian mansion in the heart of Mayfair, Bourdon House is the London Home of Alfred Dunhill and the consummate retreat for men – the finest Dunhill collections surrounded by such services as a Barber, Spa, Screening Room, Bar Lounge, Humidor and Bespoke leather and menswear.

I love a man to dress smartly and Alfred Dunhill really optimises a true Gentleman with their clothes and also their website.

The fact that you could be a true English gent and visit Bourdon house and be preened and also clothed is my sort of dapper heaven!

The Dunhill website is also a true accolade to the brand -

You can view the Dunhill Voice - Autumn / Winter 2012 campaign which shows real men of different ages and backgrounds each a man of achievement featuring -

David Adjaye - Architect

John Hurt - Actor

James Marah - Film Director

Jamie Hewlett - Artist and Filmmaker

Here you can see the clothes being worn by 'real men' and also buy the items directly from the website.

I loved seeing John Hurt looking dapper but still pulling off a beard!

My favourite section of the Dunhill website is the luxury leather goods -

As a leading purveyor of luxury leather goods for men, they specialise in iconic leather accessories such as leather briefcases, leather wallets and leather belts.

Can you imagine the smell of leather if you were to visit the Mayfair store for a Christmas present for someone special?

I loved the bag range which you can view in its entirety by clicking Here

This Bladon Black 48 hour bag  isn't cheap at £1,400 but the quality of it is amazing!

Bladon is made to last and be handed down through the generations. Constructed from sturdy but soft leather, these pieces will develop unique characteristics as they are used over time.

The Bladon large leather collection is designed to keep up with the demands and style of the modern, intelligent traveller. Masculine, tanned leather with a natural grained appearance is exquisitely crafted into timelessly elegant but always functional luggage.

The other accessories or "Big Gestures" as they are labelled on the website are also amazing -

As well as the accessories section "Small Tokens" which are well priced and are sure to gain you extra brownie points if you bought them for someone special, they'd also make great Christmas gifts!

I hope you enjoyed this post?  Have you heard of Alfred Dunhill before?

I wonder what else they will come up with for James Bond!
