If you've read my blog for a while you will know that I have a VERY big addiction to nail polish!
I don't try and hide this fact, and I am planning on showing you guys a full disclosure video on just how bad the 'situation' with nail polish has gotten.
I thought that I can then talk you through all the brands that I currently covet in my stash, from the good the bad and the ugly. But for now I thought I would tell you all about another nail polish pairing that has found itself joining my nail polish collection.
Maybelline have the new (or relatively new) Forever strong Super Stay 7 days gel nail colours.
Upon a visit to my nearest Superdrug store I came across this range and thought that the colours were beautiful and I was intrigued by the claim of a 7 day gel nail colour! I picked up one colour and then the matching top coat to the range to give the colour the best chance of staying on my nails, and being able to review the full range from colour to top coat for you lovely lot.
I picked up these two - Rose Salsa, Hot Salsa which is a gorgeous mix of pink with a coral undertone which you can find 'Here' for £4.49 (but the packaging is different)
and then I chose the matching top coat and base coat which is also available for £4.49 'Here'
Product description
Maybelline Forever Strong Professional Nail Varnish combines all the qualities of a professional colour.
Perfect precision curved brush
Rich colour and high shine
Enriched with Iron & Calcium
"First apply a clear base color to your nails to prevent them from yellowing and make your nail color last longer. Paint the first line of color down the middle of the nail from the base of nail to the tip leaving a small space at the base. Then paint two strips on either side. Let dry before applying a second coat. Finish with a single layer of clear top coat to extend your manicure"

(information taken from Boots website)
I'm pleased that I picked up a colour and then the top coat / base coat.
I followed the instructions above from Maybellines make up artist and sat back and watched my nails and their ware and tear for 7 days. I managed to photograph the longevity of the nail colour up to day 3 but then I totally forgot (and then because I'm a nail polish picker) I ended up picking the nail colour off by day 5 because it was chipping and annoying me!
In general I found that the polishes did have good staying power. I think that if I were to leave them for 7 days then they would of chipped even more and just looked messy so I removed the polish before it got to that stage.
Value for money wise this range is great. It offers your nails a calcium and iron mix to make them grow slightly whilst wearing the polishes, and I did find that my nails were slightly less bendy when wearing the range.
They do offer a gel-like formula but not one that will ever rival my Red Carpet Manicure kit, which is wonderful at gel nail colours and longevity for upto 8 days.
All in all the Maybelline Forever Strong Super Stay 7 Days range is affordable and is currently in a 3 for 2 deal in Boots 'Here' and also on offer in Superdrug in a 3 for 2 too 'Here'
What do you think of this range?

Great review! I really wanted to try them. I think the chipping won't be an issue for me... As a fellow nail polish addict, I change things up every three days, anyway! ;)
