Last week I was lucky enough to fulfill a dream of mine, by visiting Gothenburg in Sweden!
As someone who loves everything Swedish design; to be invited to go as part of my new job, was an opportunity that I couldn't miss.
We were only there for 3 days, so I couldn't venture out as much as I would've liked - but I still managed to fit in some shopping, networking and drinking along the way!
I thought I would share some small items that I brought back, along with some of my favourite photos from the trip! (for more gorgeous photos, check out my Instagram Page)
Gothenburg, is a major city in Sweden, and is situated off the Göta älv river on the country's west coast. An important seaport, it's known for its Dutch-style canals and leafy boulevards like the Avenyn, the city's main thoroughfare, lined with many cafes and shops. Liseberg is a popular amusement park with themed rides, performance venues and a landscaped sculpture garden.
The Swedes are so relaxed and welcoming, wherever we went they were polite and interested in why we were visiting their city.
They are famous in Gothenburg for their seafood, and on our last night we were treated to a full Swedish meal at the Fish market FESKEKÔRKA (which means ‘fish church’ in Swedish!)
I have never in my whole life seen so much fresh fish! It truly was a feast for the eyes and the senses!
Our flights were with Norwegian airlines - the first airline to have it's own wifi! This little jewel enabled me to live stream my trip on whatsapp to my friends, and post pictures like the one above when we were up in the clouds - Pure bliss!
One of my colleagues lived in Gothenberg for a while, so she very kindly showed me around the town. This store Lagerhaus was pure Scandi heaven for me!
Filled to the brim of gorgeous Swedish homeware - if I had a bigger suitcase (and budget) I would of spent a small fortune.
Just look at these beautiful notebooks - a stationery lovers dream.
Spotty mugs and plates anyone?!
Here's what I purchased -
The geometric plastic tray was 49 SEK or £4.10
The gorgeous marble coaster was 59 SEK or £4.94
The small jewel coaster was 39 SEK or £3.26
The larger jewel coaster was 149 SEK or £12.46
And lastly, this beautiful print which says "The Universe and You" which I absolutely adore was 59 SEK or £4.94
The range of homeware at Lagerhaus was extensive, and really well made.
The moose mug, and Sweden pen were purchased in the airport as little souvenirs to me!
I just wish I can go back to the Lagerhaus store soon - or that they would come to the UK I NEED to go back to Sweden ASAP. I adore their relaxed, healthy lifestyle.
Have you visited Sweden before? If so, is there anywhere that you recommend to stay, or to eat, or to shop? I've definitely got the Swedish bug, and I'm so excited to go back soon!

We didn't visit the amusement park, instead we just strolled along the Avenyn, and soaked up the many fountains and parks along our route.
We drank prosecco at the Heaven 23 and watched the sunset over Gothenburg - it was pure bliss! The Swedes are so relaxed and welcoming, wherever we went they were polite and interested in why we were visiting their city.
