Midori

There's been tons to celebrate for the month of November; from Halloween to Bonfire night.
When the team at Midori got in touch, and offered my girlfriends and I the yummy Midori Melon Liqueur and a cocktail Halloween movie kit to boot - how could I say no?
I used to love cocktails, but I don't drink any more for health reasons (plus I'm always driving), but I'm happy to take a sip and try what's on offer!
If you're looking for something different this festive season, then Midori might be right up your street!
So how did this Melon liqueur come about?
In 1971, when the International Bartenders Association held its International Cocktail Championships in Tokyo, delegates raved about the melon liqueur they sampled at the Suntory plant.

Taking the hint, Suntory spent seven years developing a new melon liqueur for the international market. 7 years later, Midori made its debut at Studio 54 Saturday night fever party with the "Japanese Gin and Tonic". It was the key ingredient in ‘The Universe’ – the cocktail that won first prize in the US Bartenders’ Guild annual awards. This was the start of many award winning cocktails.

Seven years developing a cocktail is mind blowing!! But I must confess that this time and research has really paid off.  Midori offers something totally different to your cocktail.
Midori is made from premium Japanese melons, delivering Midori’s distinctive sweet and refreshing taste.

From its name – which means verdant, vibrant green in Japanese, to its sophisticated and care-free attitude, Midori is a must have for any cocktail.
So I got my girls together, we sat down for the gorgeous table of food above, and worked out what we were going to make.  The team at Midori really spoilt me, from the way the parcel arrived, to the Martini glass, cocktail shaker and my own personalised blanket with my blog name on it!
We tried to make this cocktail using everything from the kit -
Ingredients:
20ml Midori
30ml Gin
25ml Pomegranate juice
Squeeze of lime
Dash of grenadine
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker, fill with ice and shake hard.
Fine strain into a coupette or Martini glass.
Garnish with a lime twist and serve with a shot of champagne on the side
Totally spoilt from the cocktails, and the scary DVD, and the plush personalised blanket we had an amazing time!
You can find loads more delicious cocktails on the Midori website 'Here' there's so much to chose from!

Why don't you pick up a bottle next time your in the supermarket?  ASDA, Tesco and Morrisons all stock Midori.

Thanks to the team at Midori for making us all feel very spoilt,
I'm off to snuggle under my personalised blanket, with a Martini glass full of orange squash! LOL!
