So it seems freedom of speech as a blogger and a consumer is not how it used to be in this world!
I did a REVIEW on my blog of MY findings of a place that I visited for my BIRTHDAY paid for by my two friends with their HARD EARNED cash.
Then I receive a letter today (11/06/14 at 7pm) from the solicitor from Bannatyne basically threatening me with legal action. This is totally unnecessary and rather ridiculous!
It's safe to say I am disgusted by the way I have been treated and I will never use their facilities or company again!
Oh dear, what a shame! Not at all what you would expect from a spa experience! xx

Hi Catherine, Thanks for your comment very sweet of you! Yes I was extremely disappointed and even more so since yesterday evening! xx
DeleteSuch a shame you had a bad experience with your birthday treat. I also think sometimes when you buy vouchers like that they just overbook and then are overwhelm. But the thing is that those vouchers are actually there to market the facilities! If people have a good time, theyll talk about it but if they dont, well they also talk about it!I'm not sure fot he UK, but here in Canada we don't really have a privacy spot to change in spas, just your locker room type of things.
ReplyDeleteHey Stephanie, Thanks for your lovely comment. I think I need to come to Canada for a spa day it seems you know how to do it over there! xx
DeleteI would have expected so much more and would have been so annoyed and let down x
ReplyDeleteYep honey, let down is an understatement. What a way to treat customers! It's disgusting and totally unnecessary, Thanks for your support xx
DeleteOh my God that's awful! I would be so disappointed and probably put in a complaint to both Lastminute.com and Bannatyne Spa. I'm so sorry that you didn't get what your friends paid for and the luxurious day you were looking forward to :(

Confessions of a Secret Shopper
Hey lovely! Yep, things have got totally out of hand and it ruined my evening yesterday. What a way to treat people. xx
DeleteJust hop on over to trip advisor and leave the review there! Silly Spa.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea! I think I'm gonna xx
DeleteHow disgusting that they made you take down an honest review... :( But you should be able to write an honest review that's not made up or slanderous...
ReplyDeleteArticle 10 of the Human Rights Act (European Convention on Human rights) is Freedom of Expression (very similar to 'freedom of speech' that America have) - it's more aimed at the state, government, police etc can't stop you saying those things, but private companies could be a different matter.
If it were me, I'd fight it, it's your honest opinion, I don't think they legally can stop you (as long as it's not slanderous). I'd either try the Citizens advice, or preferably speak to a Solicitor. Perhaps try the Liberty charity - they're lawyers who protect people's civil liberties and rights (www.liberty-human-rights.org.uk).
Good luck lovely
Georgina
