Red Carpet Beauty Look - With House Of Fraser

I was contacted by House of Fraser recently telling me about their new competition
'What's your Red Carpet Style' where you can take beauty inspiration from a celebrity or come up with an idea yourself for the chance to win £100 House of Fraser vouchers.
All you have to do is list which beauty item, make up or fragrance you would need to complete your look.. so here's my entry!
It was my directors wedding the other weekend, and it took me ages to come up with something comfortable that I could wear all evening and still feel lovely in.

The dress I wore I borrowed from a friend at the last minute and that was my inspiration for the beauty look too.  The dress was blue polka dots and very 50's inspired - so to stay within the theme I opted for simple make-up with a bright bold red lip, nude heels and a red clutch bag.
This isn't a look I normally go for, I don't really enjoy wearing dresses as I'm not girly like that.  I much prefer trousers or jumpsuits so wearing a dress for a wedding was completely out of my comfort zone.

I think the reason I don't like wearing dresses is because I HATE my legs, and I have a large bust so I find dresses really hard to buy for.
Wearing a bold red lip, isn't something I do everyday either but after being convinced by the sales girl in Super drug that it would suit me I opted for the Revlon Colorburst in number 135 'provocateur, Femme Fetale' which you can buy 'Here' for £5.99

This shade really suited my pale complexion, blue dress and nude heels.

Here's the make-up I went for to complete my look, all items that I use daily apart from the Revlon lip colour!

It was great to step out of the house with a fab new hair do, wearing a dress which didn't show too much and a bright red lip.
I got so many compliments at the wedding and I did feel happy with my outfit and make up choices.

The item from House Of Fraser that would complete my look is -

Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Cologne £78.00 'Here'

My reasoning for this decision is even the description of this fragrance makes me feel special -

'The sensuality of a daring red dress.  Ruby-rich juices of pomegranate, raspberry and plum are spiked with pepper and laced with Casablanca Lily and Spicy Woods.  A Dark and enigmatic fragrance'

I have smelt this fragrance before and I simply adore its rich lingering smell on the skin.  The only reason I haven't purchased it yet is simply because of the price tag and that I know I will be spray happy and waste the product!

I wish I could have every scent from the Jo Malone range, they are just so luxurious and long lasting... here's hoping one day I can have my own Jo Malone fragrance wardrobe.
