So I caved! I saw the hype on these Revlon colourburst matte balms and I just HAD to try them out for myself.
I must of walked into my local Superdrug store about 4 times, swatching colours and ohh-ing and ahh-ing over the range, and then I opted for a lacquer balm instead.
Then I went in this week and purchased two out of the colourburst range as they had a buy two get the third from the Revlon range for free. I was sold!
I chose two shades -
220 - Showy Flamboyante - a rich pink shade
205 - Elusive Insatiable - a richer than nude shade with a hint of peach
Product Description
This innovative Chubby lip pencil takes your look from day to night with this velvety matte finish, infused with Balm like moisture. This on trend finish comes in 10 shades take your look from soft and pretty to bold and glamorous.
Velvety Matte finish
Triple complex of Shea, Mango and Coconut Butter
Retractable chubby crayon, no sharpener required
I chose these two shades because I thought that they weren't like anything else that I had in my lip collection, and they seemed very spring / summer like.
Here's 220 - Showy Flamboyante in the top and bottom pictures
And here's 205 - Elusive Insatiable
Both shades although matte aren't drying. Upon first application you can smell and feel a slight mint fresh sensation, and then they settle and just moisturise your lips in a really hard way to describe -
The colour stays matte but without drying or dehydrating your lips. Your lips feels balmy in texture but matte upon appearance!
I can really see what the appeal of these are. I have tried i(n my 33 years) many long lasting matte lip colours and I have always found them drying, cakeing and just not up to the job. But these Revlon Matte Balms just offer a unique formulation with ease of use and amazing colours! I am converted!!
You can pick up the Revlon ColourBurst Matte Balms for £5.99 instead of £7.99 'Here'
Thanks for reading!

DeleteI've seen so many great things about these products but still not tried them, they both look fab on you. I'm kind of obsessed with pink so I know that'll be the first choice.Definitely a purchase I have to make coming into the Summer.

Hey Louise, I am already following your fab blog on Bloglovin, so I have followed you on G+ now too. Thanks for commenting. xx
DeleteI would love to try them but my local drugstores don't have testers except for the orange one :(But I have a lacquer balm and I love it!
ReplyDeleteHey Stephanie! Such a shame that your local store doesn't have great testers of these. You really need to test them to work out which one works for your skin tone. They are so pigmented I think you'll love the concept as much as me. Thanks for the great comment. xx
DeleteThey sound and look amazing! I keep picking these up and thinking nahhh I bet they aren't that good. But I think I am wrong.
