Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream SPF 30 - First Impressions

So I took the plunge last weekend when I was in Boots and decided to ask for a trial size of the new Clinique Moisture Surge CC cream.

I'm not really into the whole BB cream / CC cream wave - I simply like a foundation that does what foundations are supposed too - coverage, longevity and moisturisation.

Saying all of this, I was quite taken with the packaging for the CC cream and asked the Clinique assistant if I could sample some of it, she kindly obliged and provided me with a 5 day supply of the stuff (she was lovely too) thanks Majabie in Boots!

The shade I went for was the palest of the bunch - Very Light

I have been using it for the past couple of days and thought I would compile this post about my first impressions - And I am really quite impressed!

The consistency is quite thick but very moisturising, coverage is light to medium, but I found two layers was enough to cover what I needed.
Mug Shot!
The CC part stands for "Colour Corrector" and it contains a broad spectrum SPF 30 which is great for the summer months and if you are going on holiday.

It's formulated to enhance the skin's natural radiance, to offer hydration benefits and to provide (of course) daily sun protection to prevent the first signs of ageing.

It's oil-free too!

The corrector part means that it will automatically correct those parts of your skin that are red, sallow or dark, sheer optics reflect light away from imperfections so the skin looks more toned.

Poser!
I liked the idea that I could pop this CC cream on - it would moisturise my skin, give it more luminosity, SPF protection and I wouldn't need to reapply throughout the day.

I will definitely be purchasing this in full size!

Shades available -

The Clinique CC cream is currently available with 16% off from Debenhams and will set you back a respectable £23.33 for a 40ml size 'Here'

I of course will probably purchase my own from Boots so that I can collect my Boots Bonus Points - currently in Boots the CC cream is £28.00 for 40ml  'Here'

If you are interested in trying this product like I was - ask a Clinique counter for a sample size of it to try?  I really love cosmetics companies that offer trial sizes because you really don't know what a product is going to look like on your skin in natural light, at home or in photographs - and if you will react to the product.

It's well worth trying things before you part with your hard earned cash!

Have you tried any of the CC creams out on the market?  If so, what's your favourite?
