GlossyBox April 2012 Review - The Natural Beauty Box

Hello to all my new subscribers via GFC and Hello Cotton and YouTube!
Thank you for your continued support, and I hope you are enjoying reading my blog?

Considering I have only been blogging since December 2011, things are going wonderfully.
I have met the lovely ladies from GlossyBox, I have attended events and have talked via Twitter and Instagram to some fab people.  Hello new friends! :-)

I have waited with lots of excitement for this months GlossyBox to come, after I attended the GlossyBox / Caudalie event a few weeks ago.

This months box didn't disappoint!
I received mine on Friday, and I loved the muted beige packaging which is environmentally friendly and recyclable.
The Contents -

My video on the contents -

Burt's Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk and Honey Body Lotion - lasts up to 24 hours

MONU Professional Skincare - Moisture rich Collagen Cream

Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum

Figs and Rouge Lip Balm - 100% pure and natural organic multi purpose balm.

Inika Cosmetics certified organic eyeliner - A rich and creamy consistency unparallelled in the world of natural liners

I knew from the GlossyBox event that there was going to be something special coming up for April, and the variation of products is just great in this box.  Yes I know some of the contents would not suit everyone, mainly because some subscribers like to receive some sort of Make up item in their boxes, but personally I enjoy receiving body / face products and trying out new ranges.

The Burt's Bees body lotion smells wonderful, so summery and gorgeous on the skin.  The Caudalie serum I cannot wait to use as from the event I have been using the cleanser and lip conditioner everyday, and both are working marvels on my dry dull skin.  The lip balm from Figs and Rouge is great for the handbag and can be used on the cuticles too.  And the MONU collagen cream is a great size as well as the INIKA eyeliner.

All in all I have nothing to be disappointed about with this months box.  I will use everything inside and will definitely keep the cute packaging for when I move house in a few weeks time!!! (keep praying that this will happen for me guys because I am soooo excited!)

Anyways have you received this months box?  What do you think of the contents?

Thanks for reading

Latest In Beauty 'Little Beauty Box' Review

Hi there,

Here's a random concept for you to look at - Latest In Beauty and they're Little Beauty Box information 'Here'

About Latest in Beauty

Is your bathroom cabinet full of lotions and potions that you have bought but never use?

These days there are so many beauty products on the market that it’s difficult to know which to choose. Which age-defying moisturiser will really iron out your fine lines? Which cleanser will suit your sensitive skin? Which shampoo will give your hair the volume you crave? However good a product looks, you can never be sure if it's right for you until you try it.

Latest in Beauty's aim was to create a website which allows you to try before you buy. You can do so in two ways - by ordering a monthly beauty box, or by purchasing luxury samples.

1st option that I went for - THE LITTLE BEAUTY BOX

The Little Beauty Box is what Latest in Beauty is famous for. Usually featuring standard sample sizes like sachets and small vials, the beauty box allows you to try a product once or twice to get a feel for it. Based on the information you provide when you sign up, we recommend the products that we think are right for you. You can then select the exact free beauty samples you want to try from our recommendations in three categories: Skincare, Body & Hair and Makeup & Perfume. We'll package up your three chosen samples and post them out to you in our trademark pink beauty boxes once a month.

2nd option - LUXURY SAMPLES

If you'd rather try products for a little longer before making up your mind, our new Luxury Samples are perfect. These larger samples (similar to 'travel size' bottles or tubes, providing enough product for at least a week's usage) give you a bit more time to make up your mind about a product, but still save you having to buy a full size straight away. These luxury samples work particularly well for high-end products - is it really worth splashing out on that £100 face cream? Try it for a week or so for a fraction of the cost, and you'll soon find out!

What I received -

Above - SUPER by Dr Nicholas Perricone Bright Eyed

Above - Dr Organic Rose Otto Skin Lotion x1, and Elemental Herbology
Skincare Trial Kit x3 sachets

You have to pay £1.50 by texting 80039 and then they text you with a code which you enter in to the website to say that you have paid.  Now I found this the innovative part of the deal but it is quite expensive for little samples of things which you could probably get for free from a counter at a department store!  I haven't signed up for monthly subscription to these I purely wanted to try things before I bought.

Here's my video on my first impressions of this company -

(as you can tell by my face I'm not that enthusiastic)

What do you think of this company?  Have you used them before?

Thanks for watching/ reading

Hugs Claire

Amitee / Pamper Secrets Beauty Box Review March 2012

Hi chickies,

A little review on a new to the market beauty box for you -
The Amitee / Pamper secrets box.

Pamper secrets is an exclusive, members only beauty box subscription service available to friends of Amitee and is targeted at the ethnic market.

Each month they carefully select the best quality products for your hair and beauty needs so you can try them out in the comfort of your home before committing to buying the full-sized products.

Companies Amitee work with include popular, established brands as well as exciting upcoming brands. These are - Elemis, Paul Mitchell, and Murad to name a few.

In March, Amitee's beauty box subscription service will be open to everyone.
As of April, in order to subscribe you will have to enter an invitation code, which you will be able to obtain from either a current subscriber or through flash giveaways that Amitee will be holding on social networking sites.
Upon subscription, you will receive invitations to hand out, which will come in the form of unique codes.

A prospective subscriber will then have to enter that code as part of their sign up to successfully be a new subscriber.

Once you have handed out all five of your invitations and those people have successfully subscribed, Amitee will notify you about the reward.

The only catch -

Please note that if you unsubscribe to Amitee's service and wish to re-subscribe, you will once again need an invitation to do so.

The products in the Pamper Secrets beauty box are carefully selected to suit the needs of any and all ladies of African, West Indian, Asian or Mediterranean decent - now I do not fit into any of these categories, but I still enjoyed the box and especially the Elemis products and wasn't put off at all, so maybe if your thinking this box won't be suitable think again?

The bonus -

Each box contains a selection of 5 sample-sized products. Occasionally, you will receive full-sized products inside as well!

What I received in the box -

My video on the contents of this box and overall first impressions -

What do you think of this box?  Do you think its worth the £12.95 a month?

Value for money

Value wise for this kit is unbelieveable!  See price comparisons direct from the new CID website below versus the contents of the QVC kit -

The trio i-gel eyeliner retail at £21.50 on theyre own, you can see a video of the application 'Here'

i-gloss light up lipgloss with mirror is £16.00 to buy directly 'Here'
i-flutter Double Brush Volumising & lengthening Mascara is £18.50 to buy directly 'Here'

So for all of these three products they would total - £56.00 and that's only for 3 items out of the 7 piece kit which I paid £29.00 for directly from QVC!

It really does show the buying power of QVC and the deals which you can purchase.

The New CID kit is item code 200785 and is available from the QVC website for £29.75 and p&p of £3.95 alternatively please click 'Here'

Have you tried anything from the New CID range?  If so what have you bought?
