Benefit BAD Gal Bang Volumising Mascara

Bit late to the party on this post - but I just had to write a review on the BAD Gal Lash Mascara from Benefit.
Benefit are the top of the market when it comes to mascaras.  I've tried all of them, so when a new one was released I couldn't wait to try it!
What do I love about this mascara?  The wand!  The brush is angled to a tip, so it's easy to grab hold of your bottom lashes.

Benefit BADgal Lash mascara is supposed to provide you with Sexy, dramatic, pure unadulterated voluminous lashes.  With a thick black formula.
It definately provides a rich black pigment on the lashes, the brush definately coats everyone.  But I do find that the Benefit BADgal Lash mascara is rather a wet formulation, that takes a while to dry on your lashes.
It's also supposed to not flake (more on this later)
Easy to apply on the lower lash line - a few small and light strokes and all of your bottom lashes are covered, no need to reapply.
Above - with one coat of Benefit BADgal Lash mascara on both my top and bottom lashes.
Above with two coats, great separation but not enough wow factor.  I usually use Lights Camera Lashes from Tarte as it has the staying power, and it curls my lashes too.
In order for me to get any curl in my lashes, whilst the formula is wet I touch my finger across my lashline and press lightly up.  This then gives me the curl that I need, that the Benefit BADgal Lash mascara doesn't.
All in all I find this mascara wand a joy to use on my lashes, it coats everything as it should - but it's such a wet formula that takes ages to dry and makes my lashes look spidery.  Also it flakes really badly, even though on the packaging it says that it doesn't!?
I much prefer my Tarte Mascara, its formulation is much better, it doesn't flake, dries quickly and curls.

This is the most disappointing release from Benefit for me, I did have high hopes for the formulation but it doesn't stand up for the amount of money a full size one costs.
So there you have it, an honest review about a mascara which is £19.50 'here'
What do you think of this release?

  2. Oh no! I need a new mascara and was hoping this would be good. I can’t do with one that doesn’t dry quickly :(
